Replication Schools

The S³TAIR Project model will support development of collaborative partnerships between validated and funded Effective Practice Mentor schools and Replication Schools that have a need to improve outcomes for students with disabilities. Just as Effective Practice Mentor schools will receive grants to support their participation as mentors, Replication districts/schools will receive Replication School Grants to support  development of a partnership with a Mentor School in support of replicating an evidence based effective .

Characteristics of schools that will be successful Replication Schools include:

  • Evidence of their understanding of their area of need, as documented in a Quality Improvement Plan developed with the New York State Education Department or with a Special Education Services Intervention Specialist, or a similar plan based on an analysis of data to identify causality.
  • Difficulty in successfully implementing or sustaining evidence based practices identified in their plan after completion of professional development and technical assistance in the area or areas of need.

The initial group of Replication Schools will be determined and the first cohort of Mentor/Replication Parnterships formed by summer 2010.  When Partnerships have been established, an overview describing the area of collaboration for replication will be accessible on this site.
